I have used Asus RT-n16 with Tomato Firmware v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 USB vpn3.6 for over six months.
I've read before about the USB audio and now in the winter break I decided to try to set it up. I have read a lot, spent 5 hours on this but had no success. I have 0.1 knowledge with Linux. Here is what I have and what my set up would like to be:
-USB sound card, just like the one from the tutorial
-500 GB hard drive with it's own power supply
Since I am using the hard drive as a network shared storage via the Asus USB, I did second partition on it, 512 mb, primary ext3 formatted (Gpart bootable CD). I also manage to mounted it, here is the description from the USB Support of the web based GUI:
Partition 'FreeAgent Drive' fuseblk (465.26 GB / 246.10 GB free) is mounted on /tmp/mnt/FreeAgent_Drive
Partition 'optware' ext3 (494.85 MB / 445.64 MB free) is mounted on /opt
Then I established telnet connection, It seems that I did install optware (although I do not know if it is correct or not) and some libs. I follow the steps from the Play Audio via USB wiki (it is very poor on information/details for people who are not familiar with the subject). And that is basically it. I have no idea who and what to configure.
I only want to stream online radio and have my hard drive connected as remote drive (this is working currently) in windows only environment (Yes, I have no mch running linux at home).
Can somebody make a step by step tutorial?
Thank you good people.
