Running tomato-K26USB-1.28.7492.4MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-VPN-NOCAT on WNR3500L. Splashd keeps crashing therefore crashing the captive portal and has to be restarted every X number of users. Is there a stable build for captive portal? Need a very reliable captive portal solution. Willing to take recommendation for alternative capture portal solution embedded with tomato…has to be opensource. Must have the user based bandwidth monitoring (not control), captive portal, QoS. Any help would be appreciated. Any professional help would be compensated reasonable amount…

Victek did a great job porting the NoCat splashd first seen in Chinese DualWan Mod to Tomatousb git, I know he also experimented with wifidog and others before returning to NoCat, but I agree its not without issue (similar probs with the Chinese version I recall) - my observations:-
1. Would like to be able to use on a secondary SSID.
2. Re-direct after clicking to accept TOC doesn't work on browsers I have tried (Chrome/Android/Firefox mobile), default or custom (or does that have to be a page on the router itself?)
3. When time expired don't get put back to splash screen - just lose internet - maybe that's mentioned in the note on setup page and why default time increased from one hour to 24? Maybe that's due to splashd crashing as you see?
4. NoCat rules not re-enabled on "service wan restart" - so if you have telnet/ssh access to router that's an easy way to get around the block…
Don't know if any optware solutions can be used with Tomato, but doubt any without issue due to Tomato's core role of being a gateway/firewall router manipulating those iptables rules via custom c-code not plain user scripts.
dd-wrt has had chilispot (or similar) for years and is used in hotels etc around the world - perhaps the paid-for supported version?
