Ok so I followed the instructions posted on this website. I was able to upload the file through 'Firmware restoration utility' and it showed me 'Succeeded' and gave me the open to 'upload' and 'close'. I closed the utility window and tried to access my router through 192.168.1.1 and it won't connect to it. I can't get to the admin screen to reset the NVRAM. After multiple tries:
-I turn off the router wait 15mins, restart my computer connected to the router, and turn everything back on. Still can't connect to router. I "Repair the connection" for LAN. Nothing.
-I try changing the computer's IP address back to automatically set.
Folks what am i doing wrong? It looks like when I try 192.168.1.2, the status load bar will try but then fail. i've also tried accessing the router through the WAN port. No avail.
I also had problems with the stock firmware of "Wrong Dynamic IP or static IP" which made me try this flash. Its a nightmare. My old 8 year Dlink DI-624 has been my backup.
