Hi, when I enable Samba file sharing via USB, I am given the option to set authentication. When I send the user/pass to my router, can anyone on my network potentially see the user/pass, or does the computer establish an encrypted connection between it and the router for the purposes of authentication/file sharing?

I just had another thought/question. Is the connection encrypted when I enter my user/pass to access the router itself? (not just for file sharing) If I have to mess with the router in plaintext, I can see that being a major security flaw in my network.
I think I found a way to encrypt the file sharing, does
encrypt passwords = yes
client plaintext auth = no
in Samba custom configuration work? Is there a way to do a similar thing with authentication when I'm accessing the router itself?

H T T P:// IP of router/admin-access.asp
select HTTPS for access.
Much appreciated. Do I need to do any additional settings once I do that?
Nope. just change your http to an https when accessing the router.
