Decided my 150 was a waste, Should be getting a 3500L tomorrow, will start with tomato and check it out :)
It's a joy. Not a bad router. I'm using that router with Toastman's 4xxx series of builds. Need any help just let me know.
Toastman seems to include so many other packages. Plus it happened to be the first one I came across while googling Tomato.
Tomato Firmware v1.28.20111009 MIPSR2-beta-tomato-RT-N-GIT K26 USB Ext
Installed last night late, configured a bit today, basic stuff. So far? AWESOME!
It feels so good to be back on Tomato again.
Great Job!!
You do not need to use the RT-N build on a 3500L. The N builds have the wireless driver for the newer dual band routers.
The standard RT builds do just fine as you do not have the 5GHZ radio.
Tomato Firmware v1.28.4492 MIPSR2-Toastman-VLAN-RT K26 USB Ext
Installed, Successfully! Completely reset and reconfigured, and so far is rockin!!
Definitely wish this was available for the WNDR4000 other router.
Great job guys.
I just got myself a wnr3500l, but I find it very difficult to decide what version and build of tomatousb I should use.
There's toastman, teddbear, victek, shibby (and more?) and I can't seem to find what the differences are between the different releases. Stability is my main concern, I don't care about having the latest drivers. Is there a version/build that has an ipv6 gui?
As far as I could tell, there isn't a build that supports a pptp server out of the box. Is this still true? Does the shibby build support it? (wikipedia says vpn server yes but doesn't say openvpn or pptp).
On the dd-wrt wiki there's a warning that the dd-wrt mega build shouldn't be used as it will brick the router as a result of the firmware image being to large. Does anyone know what the maximum firmware size is that can still be used? (so I can avoid bricking my router with an image that's too big)
