I came to the conclusion that, a while ago, some features were different betwen the vlan build and the normal build.
Until a few weeks ago, Toastman's VLAN-GUI-enabled builds included the Teaman-IPTraffic network/bandwidth monitoring tool, whereas Toastman's non-VLAN-GUI-enabled builds didn't.
But nowadays it's unclear to me what differs.
Long story short: depending on settings at build/compile time, some sections/pieces of code are simply skipped (or included) in the resulting image :) Basically, when VLAN-GUI is enabled at compilation time for a build (running the 'make' command with 'VLAN=y'), the resulting firmware images will include the VLAN-GUI web interface/pages as well as some 'extensions' for some of the features/services available, such as:
- setting up/configuring multiple LAN bridges
- different settings for some features/services on each LAN bridge
- manage/control how network traffic should flow between different LAN bridges (isolated from each other by default, but network traffic can be allowed/restricted from one to another, etc…)
Hope these notes are helpful ;)
