We have a 12mb download and 12mb upload fiber internet connection from the ISP. Using the ISP supplied router, Cisco RV120W, we are getting the 12mb download and 12mb upload speed internet connection.
We do not want to use the Cisco RV120W. We want to use Tomato Firmware. Tomato Firmware gives us more control.
So we installed Tomato Firmware v1.28.9055 MIPSR1-git-13042011 K26 Std into Linksys WRT-300N ver 1.
The PPPoE, DDNS and the rest are working great. The download speed is around 12mb. Unfortunately the upload speed is only about 5mb to 6mb when it should be around 12mb. We used speedtest.net to do the test. We also made sure that speedtest was using the same server all the time for the tests.
Then we installed dd-wrt into the Linksys WRT-300N router to check if the router was faulty. Using the dd-wrt firmware, we can get 12mb download and 12mb upload speeds for the internet. So the router hardware is working.
Is there some settings that we missed out? Should we run some scripts to get the upload speed to max?
Need advice on how to solve this issue. Please help by letting us know how to resolve the limitation in the upload speed.
