I recently purchased an ASUS RT-N16 to replace my old Linksys WRT160nv3. The old router dropped wireless a few times a day, and was generally unstable even with dd-wrt installed. I read reviews of the rt-n16, and decided to buy one and load it with tomato.
Everything worked right out of the box, and the wireless has been very stable. However, the wireless speed has dropped from around 21-24 mbps on my old router to exactly 9.51mbps on the new one. Every time I check the speed it is exactly 9.51mpbs… What could be limiting it?
I'm using the linksys wusb600n adapter; could that have anything to do with it? I'm a novice when it comes to networking, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
