The /etc/resolv.conf file appears to be a symlink pointing to /rom/etc/resolv.conf, which contains just:
Absent a line like:
if you are logged in to the router's shell and do:
ping: bad address 'mylocalhost'
works as expected.
The workaround is to place the following in Administration -> Scripts -> WAN Up:
rm /etc/resolv.conf echo search `nvram get wan_domain` > /etc/resolv.conf echo nameserver 127.0.0.1 >> /etc/resolv.conf
I recommend adding the equivalent to an appropriate Tomato startup script.
