I have optware up and running (USB flash drive on my Asus RT-N16 Router) and installed the asterisk 1.8 via ipkg. It appears to be installed great and I can log into the asterisk console, etc. However, I can't for the life of me connect to port 5060 on the router from any client. There must be something simple I'm missing. I have tried adding lines to iptables so as to open up port 5060 (the default asterisk port and the port set in my sip.conf file For example, I tried the following:
iptables -A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 5060 -j ACCEPT
But I can't can't connect to port 5060 at 192.168.1.1. I've also tried a utility called "paping" which is designed to "ping" specific ports and "papinging" 192.168.1.1 at port 5060 jsut leads to "connection timed out"
There must be a way to get connected to asterisk. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
