My current network has four cascading routers with one acting as a gateway, two as switches and one as a switch/wifi ap
I want to eventually move away from outdated tech and get a set of gigabit and a N AP so im with the times.
The only question I have is instead of spending twice the cost of a single switch for one wireless router guaranteed to run tomato, can I somehow build tomato for a switch? The Gateway router controls all port fowarding and DHCP options, and after being spoiled by Tomato I just cant move away from it. Id rather not pay so much money for a gigabit wireless that wont even broadcast wifi, and go the cheaper way via a gigabit switch.
I know tomato works based on chipsets, but they must have counterparts to wired only, right?
