I have a linksys e2000 and is working perfectly, but I wonder if I am staying behind.. I run the Build 54 - 11/30/2010.. Should I try something else or should I keep waiting for an official release?
try toastman builds
7481 is latest
look for one starting starting with e2000…you have different flavors of it.
I have an e4200… I upgrade my firmware. Now I cannot access 192.168.1.1 username and password are incorrect. What should I do?
make sure you select the "erase nvram" when you upgrade…you can do it again too.
latest builds dont have DHCP enabled…so, assign a static IP to your network adapter…username =root i believe if admin doesnt work.
Ill hijack this thread since I have the same problem. How do I assign a static IP to the network adapter?
I have a WRT610N-R2 with Linksys firmware. I would like to upgrade to a Tomato firmware release, probably the Toastman release tomato-K26USB-1.28.7481MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-VPN.trx. Would that build install ok on the WRT610-R2? I know I need to use the 2.6 version, and a MIPS R2 version with the 610-R2, but the -RT- is confusing me as to what that means. Also, I assume you can use the Linksys firmware upload capability to do the initial load of the new firmware, correct?
Hugo - there is a lot of help on setting a static IP if you use google… assign 192.168.1.xx and gateway of 192.168.1.1. That's what you are supposed to do when you flash any hardware. Relying on DHCP is really going to confuse things.
mdb - RT was merely the name given to the branch of TomatoUSB when the RT-N16 came out. The name has stuck. Just use any MIPSR2 K26 build, which is what is important.

Toastman, thanks for the info. Unfortunately I was a bit hasty when I flashed my WNR3500L and I think it got bricked… When I power it everything is off except the orange power led.
Do you think I can do the "short pin" trick?
