Hi all,
I've been trying to get this working for what seems like forever. I think my biggest lacking area is the networking part.
I tried using srelay, but that's a soxks proxy and I need an "http proxy".
So, I modified the privoxy config (on the router, it's the optware package) to respond to the interface "192.168.1.1:8118" and commented out the rules for filtering and stuff (i just want this to be pass through). Then I went to the router's "Port Forwarding" page and forwarded port 8118 to the router (192.168.1.1). Then I started provoxy with the command "privoxy /opt/etc/privoxy/config", which seems to have started the server.
This doesn't seem to be working (I don't think, any testing hints would be helpful, too). I configured my "client" (boxee) to use it and it isn't returning content.
So, do I need to do something with iptables (I really don't understand iptables and how it fits into the overall routing vs. the "Port Forwarding" feature)
Also, as a "bonus", if I could enable authentication, which some http proxies allow, I would be a very happy camper.
Thanks, in advance!
