Asus RT N16 (new)
currently running v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 USB Ext
this problem is happening on several different versions of tomato, tomatoUSB, and dd-wrt
The wireless periodically fails permanently. What I mean by that is, all laptops in the house can no longer see a broadcasted SSID or connect to the wifi. (wired connections are unaffected) When this happens, several times I've reset to "factory" and/or changed to a different version of firmware and it works again for a while. We'll use the wifi (heavily without problems, example: torrenting, streaming video/audio…) for several days and then it breaks again. I've been trying to resolve this for close to a month now. It indicates that interference is "severe" at times and that may or may not be true, but there is no signal within 2 feet of the router no matter what wifi settings are set. We've tried many many different configurations (channels 1, 6, or 11 and lots of other options) Any ideas would be much appreciated.
This guy appears to have encountered the same problem: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=92707
