Don't even try to load optware until you are certain that /opt is set up correctly. One step at a time.
I put the file "mount.autorun" … Into the Data directory of my hdd but and created a folder called optware in it.
What do you mean by Data directory? What is the name of your partition? Mine is data. If yours is different, you have to account for that. The mount.autorun MUST go into the root dir of the partition, not in any other directory. All of the examples I gave are if your partition is named data and case matters. Data is not the same as data.
If your partition is named foo them it will automount as /tmp/mnt/foo which is the same as /mnt/foo. mount.autorun should be /mnt/foo/mount.autorun. The optware dir should be /mnt/foo/optware. Adjust all commands for your partition name changing foo to whatever.
Also did you remember to set the execute bit on mount.autorun using chmod +x /mnt/foo/mount.autorun?
If the mount of /opt works then you can use the command mount to get output like
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type squashfs (ro)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw)
devfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,noatime)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/sda2 on /tmp/mnt/data type ext3 (rw,nodev,noatime,data=ordered)
/dev/sda2 on /opt type ext3 (rw,nodev,noatime,data=ordered)
Note the last line showing /opt. Mine shows /dev/sda2 because it is the 2nd partition as I have a swap partition for the 1st one. Though I do not have swap turned on, I wanted the partition for future possible use.
Not sure how to upload the screen shot i have of the webgui
If you go to http://tomatousb.org/, near the bottom of the page there should be a Files button. Click that. Then click Upload a file from your computer. After it is uploaded, you should see it listed. Under Filename, you will see the filename and it will be a link to the file that you can copy and use as an image link in your forum message - use the left green insert image icon above the message box.
