I have tried without luck applying the following firmwares on top of my Asus RT-N16
and secondly, tomato-K26USB-1.28.7467MIPSR2-Toastman-VPN.trx
I was attempting to upgrade from the stock Tomato Firmware v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 USB vpn3.6.
Each time, the firmware appeared to apply successfully, and I chose to erase NVRAM settings.
Upon router restart with the toastman firmware supposedly applied, I would successfully obtain an IP via DHCP.
But when I attempted to access the web ui to configure the settings, it would take minutes for the username/password field to popup. admin/admin would not be accepted. And I was never able to authenticate / see the toastman UI.
Attempting to telnet, admin/admin and root/admin would not be accepted.
I would end up needing to reset the router and TFTP the tomato stock firmware back on it. Once the tomato stock firmware got applied, the router admin UI would come up perfectly (albeit reset).
Any idea what may have caused this? Am I using the wrong firmware bundle?
Note that I had been using JFFS prior to the initial firmware upgrade attempt. I disabled JFFS to perform the upgrade.
