Any time I reboot either my router or my computer, I get presented with this screen - http://gyazo.com/c39774dba0ad8235a4a8cbed6efe8940.png - anyone know why? Each time the number increments by 1 (i.e. the name of the network is 'prickneck').

The SSID isn't changing, that increment is something windows is doing. Youi didn't say what you select, if anything, when this screen comes up.
I always choose 'Home'. With any other network I've had my computer been on, Windows has accepted that network as the Home network and it's persisted across reboots of both computer and router.
I shouldn't have to click "Treat all future networks as public", since that's not at all what I want.
Sure. I'm just saying that it sounds like a windows issue to me rather than a router issue. Suggest trying a google search such as this to resolve.

A simple search on the forums here would have done it: http://tomatousb.org/forum/t-294920/
My bad, should have looked in the forums first. Actually I believe that I tried to do so but for whatever reason didn't come up with the same result. Guess I didn't search for the right keyboards. So that sounds like the same issue if OpenVPN is being used. I assumed, and again apparently my bad, that the firmware couldn't be at fault as the wireless MAC address would have to be constantly changing on the router to cause that which makes no sense to me. But sounds like I was mistaken? At any rate, if it is this issue, there's a workaround at the link you posted so thanks.
