Here's my set up right now:
RT-N16 with 2 USB drives connected. Both are accessible and working fine.
I want to set up one drive as the main drive, and the second one as the backup drive. I know I *could* set up a daily command to cp * from one drive to the other, but I don't think this is optimal.
Instead, I want to install Mercurial or Git versioning systems on the router… this requires an OS. So, is Optware an Operating System? I can see from the tutorials that it comes with packages, and I can install more packages, but what if I want to install something like Mercurial or Git? Can it be done? Neither of these requires a web server or anything like that.
I wish to use a versioning system because it keeps track of incremental changes. ie it flags files that have changes since last time, and an automated command would back up those changes and those changes only, reducing the strain on the router's CPU.
So, is this possible, or am I being crazy?
