I'm working on the setup of my new linksys e3000 router, one of the things that I want to implement is isolate both wireless subnets. I have run some searches for this topic but I haven't found a lot for tomato.
I have some experience from my wrt54gl router, so basically what I have done is remove both interfaces eth1 and eth2 that correspond to the wireless ratios, from the br0 bridge, to do this I have set the nvram key lan_ifnames, so now I have this:
and I have included the following lines to the init script through the web GUI in order to configure both interfaces, following steps in this topic Two isolated separate LAN subnets and rate limiting:
sleep 10; ifconfig eth1 x.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.x up; sleep 10; ifconfig eth2 x.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.x up;
according to my subnet design. It seems to work until now, I'm working right now on the policies for iptables to include the two new subnets.
I would like to know if anyone has any feedback about this procedure or anyone has tried some other way to do this with tomato, please feel free to post a reply.
