Can you mount via Cifs and download to there? I don't have a USB routerbut would find it useful to download to a nas smb share

Well, if u can see it in your network, you should be able to download there. In my case, I do also redirect my download to 2nd NTFS hard disk attached to the router. Concept is similar
i have transmission downloading to a mediaplayer mounted as cifs though wifi.
So it's perfectly possible.
only downside is that it maxes out to 1 MiB/s
