Im not sure if Im doing something wrong. I came from DD-WRT side of the fence a few months ago and really dont want to go back there. I have both my E3000 and E2000 running the latest Tomato firmware. The E3000 works great. I have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands setup (using the same SSID).
I have an E2000 now that Im going to setup as an Access Point (which is hardwired to the E3000). The E2000 also has other devices connected to its ports via hardwire (which I guess is acting like a hub/switch for those devices).
Now when I setup the E2000 on a different channel (my E3000 is channel1 on the 2.4ghz) say channel 11 on the 2.4ghz band and enable it. None of my wireless devices can connect to the wireless at all. It just keeps attempting to connect but never connects, even my smartphone (blackberry). The only way to get it to work again is to essentially disable the wireless the E2000.
Im not sure what Im doing wrong here. The E2000 is setup for AP mode on the wireless settings. The WAN is disabled, as well as DHCP. The WAN port is set to LAN (which is what the hardwire is running to all the way to the E3000). Only other setting I modified was in Advanced Routing, the mode is set to Router instead of Gateway since its not a gateway router anymore essentially. Also the same SSID is setup, same Wireless security, everything same except channel is on the opposite side of the spectrum.
I just want the E2000 to be a hub for the hardwired devices and an AP for extended coverage.
