I installed Optware and set up netatalk to do Time Machine backups via my ASUS RT-N16. Four times now the same thing has happened: The backup begins and seems to run well for somewhere between 30-60 minutes (I haven't timed it) and then the router reboots.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Since logs like /var/log/messages are lost on a reboot, how I can I gather and save some diagnostics to troubleshoot this?
I have a 1 TB single partition ext3 drive with an Optware folder and a Backups folder, the latter is configured to work with AFP as a Guest. Permissions are good because I can write files until something causes the device to reboot. I also have jffs set up but nothing it really in there. I could store logs in either jffs or the hard drive. I'm using the Ext build. During the second and third failures I have avahi running but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas? Thanks.
