Quite frequently (at least once a week), my printer stops accepting jobs from the Tomato (connected via USB). I find that if I reboot everything, things come back to life and the print jobs print. I've found the quickest and easiest way to restart just the printer server is to go to (USB and NAS->USB Support, and uncheck USB Printer Support, click Save, then uncheck it and click Save again. Is there a better way to kickstart the printer server on Tomato USB, or to improve the stability of printer services? For the record, I have a Brother MFC-7420 USB Copy/Fax/Printer, that I turn off while not in use (the thing sucks power like crazy). Most of the time, there is no problem with me turning the printer on and off as needed, the Tomato is smart enough to detect when the device is connected and turned on. But, I wonder if this may be contributing to the printer instability.
Does anyone else have issues with printer support being kind of flaky?
