I've been running Tomato, and now Tomato USB on my WRT54GL for a long time, and am now looking for a speed increase as my laptops and NAS support 802.11N and Gigabit Ethernet respectively. For simplicity I'd like to stick with a TomatoUSB based firmware, and am open to offshoot builds. What I'm looking for would be a router with at least 802.11N and Gigabit ports, preferably dual-radio. Range does not matter past 15 feet.
What N/GigE router have you guys found to have the best throughput and reliability? I see mostly references to the Asus RT-N16 and the Linksys E3000, also known as the 610Nv2, are those the main choices?
For bonus points:
Does any particular router have better OpenVPN throughput?
Are the dual radios of the E3000 fully functional?
Anyhow, thank you all for your time, and thank you in advance for any informative replies.
