I am currently looking into upgrading my now aging Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 with a router supporting Gigabit ethernet and N wireless networking. My recently upgraded 30/5 DSL is also starting to strain my Linksys to the point where it slows down during heavy usage.
My alternatives so far is the Asus RT-N16 and the Netgear WNDR 3700 (v2).
I know that OpenWRT has support for the WNDR 3700 v1 in their current release, and the v2 in their development versions, but I cannot seem to find any information on this router relating to Tomato USB which is my preferred firmware.
Does anyone have any experience with the WNDR 3700 and TomatoUSB or have any experience with the two aforementioned routers at all?
Are there any other powerful routers I should consider as an alternative in the same price range?
All feedback is most welcome.
