I'm hoping that I can get some troubleshooting assistance on configuration issues with my setup.
Problem: All PCs on wired LAN function perfectly. Sporadic inaccessible gateway issues on Wifi on R2.
I have the following setup:
R1 (DLink), 192.168.1.1, serving DHCP, connected to modem, Wifi SSID A
R2 (Asus RT-N16 Tomato v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 Std), 192.168.1.2, WAN Disabled, DHCP disabled, Wifi SSID B
R1 connected to R2 via LAN cable
- WAN | Disabled
- LAN | Router IP 192.168.1.2, Gateway 192.168.1.1, Static DNS 192.168.1.1
- Wireless | Configured and functional
- DHCP\DNS | Disabled 'Use internal DNS'
This configuration works perfectly and without issue for any/all PCs connected by wire to the LAN. I am able to wire PCs on either R1 and R2 and have full network/internet capabilities.
All wireless devices connect without issue on SSID A, however it is touch and go with SSID B. On a Win7 laptop I receive a message that the gateway is inaccessible, yet ipconfig points to the right gateway (192.168.1.1). I am also able to browse R2 admin page and also connect to any PCs on R2 LAN.
Would anybody have any ideas how I might troubleshoot or ensure that the R2 wireless clients are always able to access the gateway?
Thanks in advance,
