Here's my setup:
ASUS RT-N16 router
2 USB drives connected to router via the USB ports
1 of the drives is mounted and viewable as a Windows network folder (nas-samba)
The other drive is mounted, shared, but hidden
Everything is working absolutely perfectly. I replaced an old Windows 2003 server that was our local file server here at the office, with this router. The noise reduction has been incredible, since I basically copied over files from the server to one of the USB drives and are using those are the server now. 1 big box to 2 small drives! Nice!
Anyways, I would like to set up some sort of auto-backup between the two plugged in USB drives - NOT from a PC to the USB drive, but between both USB drives that are connected to the router itself.
I found this:
But those instructions seem to be for PC -> USB.
Would installing Optware and Rsync accomplish what I'm wanting to do?
