I have two routers E3000 (converted from WRT610n) and E2000 (converted from WRT320n) that I am trying to configure for WDS on the 5GHz band.
Currently the E3000 is configured as an AP on the 5GHz band with a 40MHz channel width. The E2000 is configured as a WEB on the 5GHz band. Everything is working just peachy.
I then switched the E3000 to WDS wireless mode (not WDS+AP) and specified the wireless MAC of the E2000. Next I switched the E2000 WDS wireless mode (not WDS+AP) and specified the wireless MAC of the E3000. The E2000 then becomes unresponsive, ethernet and wireless, after I click on save. I would have to perform a hard reset (pressing the WPS button while plugging in the power).
I gave it a few more attempts, even with the E3000 set to WDS+AP, but every time I tried to set the E2000 to WDS, it would become unresponsive. I can't even pull up the web interface.
Also, do I need to enable STP when using WDS? If yes, on which router?
