Update samba to the latest version 3.5.6 as I discovered that the version built in is over a year old.

Do you need a particular feature or are aware of a specific security threat that needs to be addressed?

I'm not aware of any security problems with the version used in Tomato-RT but I read that in resent versions there's a small speed increase & smaller memory use, which are always welcome.

Nuh, one year is't that old. I just thougth it could be updated, but thinking again, if it were possible you would have probably already done it ;)

Hey all, I'm having an issue with backing up to TomatoUsb's version of Samba. Samba v3.5 and later support full NTFS timestamp resolution, where the version shipping with TomatoUsb v1.28 is Samba v3.0.

In theory, Samba 3.5 supports backing up from Windows using "xcopy /D". Older version of samba don't work properly because the timestamp resolution is rounded to the nearest 2 seconds.

Are you saying that Samba 3.5 is too big to fit in the router's flash? If it would fit, is there a way I can upgrade?
