Flashed and was running tomato-K26USB-1.28.7492.4MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-Ext, no problems. But did not connect to the internet. Had the old Linksys WRT54Gv8 / GSv7 running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) micro - build 1306. I was switching the cable and working on the RT-N16 on my desk. (changing the TCP every frigen time I searched for help LOL)
Next day, unplugged everything and plugged in RT-N16 at the modem (this is where I think it all went bad) I never turned everything off and restarted it (modem, computer but the router was obviously) could not communicate with the router in this new location (connected to the modem and everything else in the house) also I think the WRT had the computer at 126.96.36.199 not sure.
So… I thought re-flash…
At first it would not go into recovery mode, will not sinc with computer, powers on shows LAN connections…
So I have pressed the WPS button instead of the RESTORE button when plugging in and it blinked allot, then unplugged and tried again with the restore button and it went into recovery mode.
Tried to re flash both the OEM "asus" firmware and the toast and both hang at 33% then time out saying lost connection.
Still can not access router at 192.168.1.1, suspect I have a problem with the computer, windows 7 64bit.
Also running google chrome… not sure if IE would be better, tried to address the router with IE no luck.
I hope it is an easy fix, I am just a mucker, with any luck some one is getting a good laugh. It's all good, did I mention I hate satellite internet.
