I have recently bought a Asus RT-N16 and i have flashed it with Kernel 2.6 for MIPSR2, the VPN version. And I have now unfortuantley found out that i am a total noob on this area. :( I have been reading the guides for total noobs and i didn't even manage to succseed with that. :(
I have no experience of Linux at all. I am running W7, so i am use to only click the executable file when installing something.. :)
I have at least managed to flash my router so far, and i works. Wohoo!:)
I have also connected 3 laptops to it wireless. And i have also connected my ps3.
I have run some tests and got the following speeds down (wireless):
On my Sony Vaio: 60-70 Mbit/s
On my girlfriends Dell: 10-12 Mbit/s
My netbook: 8-10Mbit/s
The first thing i am wondering is if some "priority thing" (QOS?) enabled by default? Or why do I get such awesome speed on the vaio and not so awsome speed on the dell?
If that is the case, how do i disable it? Can i set it up so the bandwidth is divided equally between ACTIVE units?
So i can use all bandwith on the ps3 if all laptops is off? Because now i get the same speed (8-10Mbit/s) on the ps3 even if the computers is off.
I would really appreciate if there is someone with a lot of patience that would like to help me put.
Thanks. / Johan
