Hi, is there possible Repeater mode? I use DD-WRT on E3000, i am connected to another router via Wifi to share internet, but i need to have independent subnet, so WDS or repeater bridge is not a solution. In DD-WRT i use mode Repeater and it works pretty well. Is this mode in TomatoUSB as well? Thanks for info.
Unfortunately no. Tomato does not have repeater mode in the same manner as dd-wrt, where one can join a network and still have the ability to transmit a wireless signal to one's clients. Tomato has a client mode which will join a specified network, as in dd-wrt, however, there is no wireless transmission, in client mode, therefore, all your devices must be then connected by wire. Tomato has a wds function that could conceivably be thought of as a repeater mode, however, client and host must have identical configurations. I admit, Tomato would be more desirable if this feature, repeater mode, were in fact, available, as it stands it's either use dd-wrt, wait and hope that Tomato will finally implement this function or purchase another router and run dd-wrt on that one and implement the repeater function from there. I hope I was clear enough and good luck.
