My Asus RT-N12 running tomato v. 1.27.9047 MIPSR2-beta16 K26 Std is dropping the wireless connection a couple of times a day, which is very frustrating. Do the more recent builds help with this? Would I need to reprogram everything in the router if I updated to the current build? Any other solutions people have found for this router? Thanks.

Having received no response to my previous message, I decided it was up to me to experiment. I loaded Tomato 1.28 9054 beta standard, but none of my wireless clients could log in. When I turned off the wireless filter everything could log in. As a test, instead of telling it to "permit" the clients on the list, I told it to "block" the clients on the list. Now, the clients on the list could log in. Did the "permit" and "block" commands reversed in this version?
No, it's not reversed.
Sounds like corrupted nvram - have you tried nvram erase ("thorough" option) and manual reconfiguration?
P.S. I deleted your duplicate post on a separate thread…
I did not erase the NV Ram, so that may be the problem. But, well, it seems to be working so well that I don't know if I should erase :-). I was getting constant drops before (making it impossible to get any work done). Now it's been stable for hours.
If I erase the NV ram, I have to retype all of the mac addresses and settings again, right?
Well, I decided to use the nvram erase option and reprogram all the settings and guess what - same problem. If I only allow the mac addresses listed, it rejects them all, if I reject the mac addresses it lets everything in. So I really do think it's not working properly. I'm using the latest version of the firmware from the website.
