I realize that this is probably a dumb question but I feel I have to ask to avoid making a $100 paper weight. I'm a bit confused as there are specific DD-WRT builds for the WRT610nV2 and the E3000.
Are the Tomato E3000 K2.6 builds compatible with the WRT610n v2? I realize that the routers have identical hardware and the answer seems obvious, but I wanted to make sure. I've read the tutorials on the WRT610nV2 to E3000 upgrade process but it seems that the only advantage is the extra NVRAM that becomes available. As I have no intentions of running scripts or bandwidth monitoring, the E3000 upgrade does not seem worth the potential bricking risk.
Also, when flashing to Tomato, it is advisable to flash with one of the DD-WRT 'first time flash' builds before transferring to a Tomato build?
Thanks for any help!
