I'm running the latest asterisk 188.8.131.52-2 on my ASUS RT-N16 running tomato 54 on a 2.6 kernel. Google voice is supposed to be fixed in the 1.8.1 version of asterisk. However, I cannot make outgoing GV calls after following the wiki instructions on setting it up. When I try a call, I get an error that gtalk channel is registered. I wanted to know if anyone out there has it running on a 2.6 kernel because a friend of mine has an ASUS WL500 and it's working for him on a 2.4 kernel. Before I waste time putting it on a WL520GU with a 2.4 kernel, I'd really like to know if it's the kernel version or something I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

There's a thread on the DD-WRT forums about this that may be helpful. Scroll down to Kate6's posts and go from there. I haven't had enough time lately to play around with it, but folks have had some success.
I'm using Optware Asterisk 184.108.40.206 with Google Voice on my RT-N16 (K26 firmware), and it works great. If, after reading the thread linked above you still have problems, post your configuration here (gtalk.conf, jabber.conf, relevant part of extensions.conf - with masked out usernames/passwords).
Hi bhairya! is it possible you can write a tutorial about how to run Asterisk 1.8 with GV on Optware or Tomato? I am trying to put them on Tomato Dualwan, but I have no idea how to troubleshot it. Thx!!
