Hi, friends. I have a very strange problem here with my RT-N16 based on tomato build 54. I updated firmware from asus 1.0.1.9 stock firmware a week ago. Everything went fine. I installed optware, transmission, lighttpd at the same time. Five days it worked ok.

Yesterday in the evening I installed php and mysql, configured it, installed phpmyadmin. Everything worked fine. In few hours I tried to connect via ssh to router using my root login and pass. It said:

login as: root
root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx password:
Access denied

telnet says the same.

I tried to ftp, it asked for a login and password. It never asked before, anonymous logins accepted to FTP directory on my hard drive and admin login to all hard drive (including mounted /opt). Web GUI didn't respond also.

[!!!!!] But transmission GUI, lighttpd, mysql, php worked fine (because phpmyadmin worked fine).

So I switched off and on my router. After it all worked fine. I hoped it was accidental crash, but now it repeated. Wan, transmission, lighttpd, mysql, php all working fine. Router responds to ping, but ssh denies access, as ftp does also. WebGUI is not responding.

I'm at work, so I can't switch it on/off and see logs (if they exist after such hard reboot). Maybe someone has ideas about my problem.
Any help would be much appreciared.

up! It happened again yesterday. Really no ideas about what could it be?

I don't know if there will be anything useful in the logs, but you can redirect them to the attached usb storage.

Insert this script in USB and NAS\USB Support\Run after mounting and you'll be able to check logs:

echo "500 10 /%your path%/messages" >/etc/syslogd.cfg
service logging stop
cat /var/log/messages >> /%your path%/messages
rm /var/log/messages
service logging start

draxx, thanks for the reply. It was a great idea to redirect logs, cause they rewrote on each reboot. I found lot's of
errors like
