I recently had to blow away my NVRAM and redo my configuration. (I'd forgotten to clear the NVRAM when moving from the stock firmware and some things were acting weirdly.) Before I did it, I downloaded the config, but discovered that it's a big binary blob. I didn't really want to reupload that blob, in case part of it was what was causing my problem, so I had to go through and save each web page. Even then, it's all in some nonintuitive format, and I had to go through a few iterations to get things right.
My suggestion is to export the config in some sort of (at least vaguely) human readable format. For one thing, I would have probably felt more comfortable about reuploading that. Even if I didn't, I could have more easily been able to reproduce the configuration.
It would also be nice if the config export would then also allow partial import: change things listed in the file and leave everything else alone. That's obviously more challenging for a number of reasons, and would just be a nice addition. The real request is just for a clearer summary of settings.
