I have an Asus 520GU with Tomato Firmware v1.28.8754 ND USB Ext
I have an NTFS drive connected to the router.
That is a screenshot of the only way Ive gotten Samba file sharing to work.
Essentially from a Win7 PC I can map it as a network drive , or network location. So long as authentication is turned off all is fine.
I am sharing a network with users whom I do not want having access to my shared media/drive.
Anytime I select the Yes,with authentication option the credentials never work.
Ive tried leaving the workgroup blank or filled in and both result in failed authentication.
Is there an option somewhere Im missing ? Is there a way to just setup a guest SSID or log in to network to keep them from seeing shared drives ?
Would using CIFS be easier if so is there a tutorial somewhere ?
Im about to quit and just deal with the downsides of having my PC running all the time but Im desperately trying to avoid that.
