I decided to enable the DMZ on my RT-N16 because I recently purchased a PS3. I gave the PS3 a static DHCP entry of 192.168.1.3 and assigned this address as the DMZ. The DMZ setting seems to work fine; the PS3 connection test reports no problems.
Prior to this I had installed fakeidentd for responding to ident requests. I accepted connections to my router on port 113 using the following in the firewall scripts:
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp —syn —dport 113 -j ACCEPT
iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING 2 -p tcp -m tcp —syn -d `nvram get wan_ipaddr` —dport 113 -j ACCEPT
This worked perfectly, www.yougetsignal.com reported port 113 as open, until I enabled the DMZ. After enabling the DMZ this port appears to be closed and ident responses do not work until I disable DMZ. Any suggestions for a work around to this issue?
