Tomato USB is as solid as any other version of Tomato.
If its anything like DD-WRT never. Even Gmail was in beta for years. Some developers either want absolute perfection and time testedness to their product or just slap the beta sticker on to keep away less informed people who shouldn't be playing around with this stuff and get mad when they brick.
I think it is time to remove it from the 2.6 kernel versions of TomatoUSB. Are we going to get a V1.29 or is this as mature as it gets?
If the firmware runs stable on your router with no problems, does it matter what version it is, and what "beta" label you see on it?
All current builds carry the 1.28 version because they were "based" on Tomato 1.28 from Jonathon Zarate and historically Jon has been the one to announce a new build series. Since he doesn't seem to be around lately, it likely won't be changed. In fact, present derivatives bear very little relationship to the original 1.28 - more like 3.x :-)
The question posted here on TomatoUSB.org also presupposes that there is any active development going on since Teddy Bear's absence. He wasa the undisputed coordinator, the one that glued it all together. Fedor - we miss you!
