I'm using a Linksys WRT310Nv2 running build 52 as a wireless bridge. The main router is an Asus RT-N13U running the latest DD-WRT build.
I experience extreme stuttering in Battlefield Bad Company 2 if the bridge is set to mixed mode, which defaults to N. I've tried all sorts of things, including:
- different channels
- switch between 20/40 MHz width on the AP
- placing the two routers closer (signal strength is very good right now)
- setting QoS in AP
- changing to build 51
- changing to DD-WRT (exact same behavior)
The setup works perfectly fine if I set the bridge to G-only mode. It's only when it runs in N mode that the stuttering occurs. I haven't noticed any serious issues with other applications, though G-only mode does feel smoother overall. I also have an Asus WL-520gU that works perfectly fine as a WEB, albeit it's limited to G mode by design.
