I am trying to compile tomato from source and have several questions to the public.
I have Asus RT-N16 running "Tomato v1.28.9050 MIPSR2-beta20 K26 USB Ext".
I've got "Tomato K26 USB 1.28.9052 (beta23)" according to the following instructions: http://www.xtremecoders.org/forums/f76/alternative-firmware-cross-compilation-method-393
I would like to:
- alter some kernel options
not sure where to modify, looks like i can run "make menuconfig" under "~/tomato/release/src-rt/router", but the wizard leads to kernel v184.108.40.206 configuration
according to the link instructions I should be able to go to ~/tomato/release/src-rt/linux/linux-2.6, run menuconfig and save it under config_base, is this an "official way"?
- alter busybox config ( can I just run menuconfig from ~/tomato/release/src/router/busybox ? )
does the above approach apply to busybox as well (save under config_base)?
- possibly add more packages (say use standalone "less" vs busybox provided one)
How do I do this? Do I just place "less" source under ~/tomato/release/src/router/less?
