I know this is an odd request but with the "new" worries of WIFI and their effects on health especially young children and pregnant mothers. It would be nice to have the router automatically shut off the wifi transmitter at night and during times of non-use. This would at least limit the exposure as I don't really want to live without it and it's more of a precautionary option until more health data is provided.
Yeah, that would be a great feature. I've already seen it in the latest dd-wrt firmware for WNR3500L
Hi Teddy, are you sure it really disables wireless signal ? I activated that feature on my WNR3500L, I can't connect on wireless when it is activated… but when connected to the router lan ports, I still can see neighborhood wireless networks in Tools -> Wireless Survey section…
The site survey temporarily enables the radio just to perform the survey. This is normal behavior whether the radio is manually disabled in the GUI or whether it is being toggled by the scheduler.

Well, better not go to a McDonalds, or Starbucks, or a hotel, or an airport, or basically anywhere then. Because all of these places have WIFI on all the time.
Hi ray123, you are absolutely right… If you get to these places temporarily there's no problem, because it is exactly like home, with a wifi access point running 24h per day, the worst situation is when you live with tens of wifi access points in the neighborhood surrounding your house, you cannot do anything about them… but if you just want to shut down (automatically over night) the most closest one to you and your children when you go to bed, use this feature :)
