Pptp code in small, and very usefull for router.
Please implemented pptp server.
I second that. A PPTP server would be great for us that do not require a full blown solution like OpenVPN. I just want to surf in Hotels without the hotel spying on me…
I second that!!
I want to use VPN on TOMATO but it is really too COMPLICATED for setup!!
PPTP would be easier to use…
pptp is in optware. However, the main problem is that Tomato does not allow to forward portsfrom WAN IP to Router'sinternal LAN ip which is required my poptop (pptp daemon). If that was allowed then poptop would've been functional. So request to allow toforward ports from wan to lan in the router.
You can forward to internal listeners, it just needs to be done via the Firewall script rather than the Port Forwarding GUI.
Could be that it's in Optware, but then you have to have an ext disk formated in ext2 or 3 for that.
And I don't want/have that.
Just want to have a simple service for my friends abroad to get my contry ip-adress and access some limited live-TV.
With PPTP-server it's easy.
So, please PPTP-server in (all) builds.
@Rodney Hester, firewall script does not work since I tried iptable rules and exactly the same happens.
Sorry it took so long to replye. But my point is that it does not forward wan interface to lan interface. I tried different approaches. Try it yourself.
m00n: Every public-facing Internet service I have is on my router, all done via iptables. An example:
# ftp iptables -t nat -A WANPREROUTING -p tcp --dport 21 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.1.1 iptables -t filter -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 21 -j ACCEPT
