We all know Download Master suck for RT-N16, so as a replacement I want to utilize jffs and get rtorrent and rutorrent Web GUI working standalone without any USB drive attached. Then with an external USB drive, I can save the torrent files in there. In this way, I can replace/add USB drive whenever I want.
There are other guides that put everything including Optware in a USB drive, I want to avoid that route since RT-N16 has 32MB internal flash already.
So far I am able to use jffs2 for optware (/jffs/opt -> /opt) and did the following
1) rtorrent under /opt
2) lighttpd under /opt
3) rutorrent's web GUI files under /opt
4) 1.5TB external usb drive mounted in /tmp/mnt/New_Volume (/tmp/mnt -> /mnt). New_Volume is name of my 1.5TB NTFS drive.
Here is the code of what I've done.
# enable jffs support under Administration/jffs, then format, login console as root/admin mkdir /jffs/opt mount -o bind /jffs/opt /opt wget http://www.3iii.dk/linux/optware/optware-install-ddwrt.sh -O - | tr -d '\r' > /tmp/optware-install.sh sh /tmp/optware-install.sh #rm -r /opt/var ln -s /tmp/var /opt/var ipkg update ipkg install rtorrent gnuplot ipkg install lighttpd cd /opt && wget http://rutorrent.googlecode.com/files/rutorrent-3.1.tar.gz && tar -xvzf rutorrent-3.1.tar.gz rm -r rutorrent-3.1.tar.gz
