Well, it looks like the hardware version is different on the newer WL500GPv2 routers:
while on the older boxes (with CPU running at 240 MHz) it was:
It is possible that all WL-500GPv2's with hardware_version=WL500GPV2-01-07-02-00
have CPU fixed at 200 MHz. But I don't know if I can simply apply the clock fix code based on the hardware_version - it's still possible that there are routers with the same hardware versions but differently clocked CPU. Need either more statistics, or the specs/datasheets from Asus ;)… If we get 20+ more posts on this thread confirming that assumption (hmm - sounds unlikely though…), I'll code it in the firmware.
Regardless, in the next build the following fix
nvram set clkfreq=200
will work in both - K24 and K26 editions (no need to set debug_clkfix
), if you are unlucky owner of 500GPv2 with underclocked CPU. Until then use the solutions from above posts.
