My RT-N16 has been eating Tomato in these two weeks.
It's much easier to use than DD-WRT in some parts of the features.
I encountered a problem after setting up the OpenVPN server successfully:
I created a shortcut locally to connect the USB HD on the remote side which is connected to RT-N16 directly.
192.168.1.2 is the IP of RT-N16
The browsing speed is extremely slow (the average speed is 10~30 seconds for each click), but the down/up load speed is acceptable (100~180 Kbyes/sec)
(My internet connection speed is 10M/2M on both sites).
But if I used FTP client (like Filezilla) to connect 192.168.1.2, then the speed is normal (browsing or down/up load).
(The purpose of using 192.168.1.2 is forced FTP to use VPN tunnel. Is it right?)
(In the mean time, I had enabled the FTP server function in Tomato)
The result is same, no matter using firmware 1.27 9047 or 1.28 9049.
(So far, I ever used these two firmwares only)
(I am using 1.28 9049 beta19 now)
The client end had been tested under windows 2000, XP, 7.
And they are all same.
I am using the certificate keys not static key in OpenVPN.
Changing the parameters without help.
(TAP or TUN, UDP or TCP, Compression or not, connection port other than 1194)
Does anyone have idea about the browsing speed?
Or what part did I miss?
