Below I will include the smb.conf on the RT-N16, my mount command that I am using on the linux box and a directory listing of the mount points on the linux box. My mount command does not support the smbfs fs type so I'm using cifs:
root@unknown:/tmp/etc# cat smb.conf [global] interfaces = br0 bind interfaces only = yes workgroup = WORKGROUP netbios name = unknown server string = tomato guest account = nobody security = u[[/div]]ser map to guest = Bad User guest ok = yes guest only = no browseable = yes syslog only = yes timestamp logs = no syslog = 1 dns proxy = no encrypt passwords = yes preserve case = yes short preserve case = yes wins support = yes domain master = yes local master = yes preferred master = yes os level = 65 socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_KEEPALIVE IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_RCVBUF=16384 SO_SNDBUF=16384 [music] path = /mnt/Elements/music/ comment = music [pictures] path = /mnt/Elements/pics/ comment = pictures [root$] path = / browseable = no comment = Hidden Root [video] path = /mnt/Elements/video/ comment = vidoe [Elements] path = /tmp/mnt/Elements comment = Elements
mount point permissions on linux host:
linux-dq6k:/mnt # ls -al total 20 drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 2010-08-03 21:09 . drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 2010-08-03 20:03 .. dr--r--r-- 2 root root 4096 2010-08-03 21:09 music_share dr--r--r-- 2 root root 4096 2010-08-03 21:09 pics_share dr--r--r-- 2 root root 4096 2010-08-03 21:09 video_share
mount command excuted on linux host:
linux-dq6k:/mnt # mount -t cifs //192.168.1.1/music /mnt/music_share --verbose -o guest mount.cifs kernel mount options: ip=192.168.1.1,unc=\\192.168.1.1\music,guest,ver=1,user=,pass=******** mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
I've also played around with the permissions of the mount points on the linux client and r/w permissions of the shares on the RT-N16 server but I always get the permission denied error. Do I need to add support for smbfs to mount or is this just a bug?
