Hello everybody,
today I wanted to start with a little bit of Qos on my Asus RT-ac66u router just by settings web browsing on a high class and slowing down anything else. My internet line is very very slow (just about 4 MBit down/400KBit up), but when I enable the QoS settings I've set up, downloading a simple application setup file from the web slows down to about 40 kbyte/s, while with QoS deactivated I can go with 400 kbyte/s.
The graphs and details show me that the traffic is detected correctly as WWW.
I's just set a few rules, what's the problem here? Hope someone can help me out.
By the way, even if I set the "Highest" class for web browsing it still stays as slow as before.
Thank you very much!
Undee
These are my basic settings (unfortunately I cannot upload any picture here):
Enalbe QoS x
Prioritize small packets with these control flags x ACK
Prioritize ICMP x
Reset class when changing settings x
Default class: Normal
Qdisc Scheduler: sfq
OutBound Rates / Limits
WAN 1 350 kbit/s
Highest No Limit / No Limit
WWW 50% / 100%
Normal 1% / 5%
InBound Rates / Limits
WAN 1 3500 kbit/s
Highest No Limit / No Limit
WWW 50% / 100%
Normal 1% / 10%
And these are the Classification Rules:
TCP/UDP Port: 80,443, Class WWW, IPP2P and Layer 7 are disabled.
