So I bought the AC68U and finished flashing it from the T-Mobile firmware. I was hoping to take advantage of the USB 3.0 port and sell off my AC66U. The only noticeable difference to me is the USB 3.0 as the 5ghz side is limited to 1300mbps and the only speed difference is on 2.4 ghz (450 vs 600). So I am up and running on "tomato-RT-AC68U-ARM—138-AIO-64K" and my through put is awful. On the overview screen they sit most of the time at 27 (2.4ghz) and 54 (5.0ghz). Noise level on both is acceptable. This is compared to my Asus RT-AC66U running at 121 and 600 on 2.4 and 5.0. I expected at least similar/same speeds. When I connect to the 68U the on 2.4 the speed drops to 11 and no real change on 5.0.
I've swapped the channels between the two e.g. 10 and 48 on 66U and compared to 10 and 48 on 68U. The 66U gives me 121 and 270 on 2.4 and 5.0. All of these numbers are from the overview screen.
I get roughly the reported speeds /2 /8. E.g. if it reports 160, I can download from a wired connection at 20 MBps.
So the 68U is driving me insane. Has anyone had issues like this? Is it tomato or a hardware issue.
